Description
It is native to the island of Martinique (Caribbean). It is an arboreal species with unique coloring—juveniles are bright blue or turquoise, while adults display stunning shades of purple, red, and green with fluffy fur. It has a docile temperament and weak venom. It builds large, dense nests out of spiderwebs.
Size
Body length is about 5–6 cm, and leg span reaches 13–15 cm.
Housing Conditions
Temperature: 24–28°C during the day, with a slight drop at night (20–22°C). Humidity: 75–80%. Ventilation: Very good cross-ventilation is essential. Stagnant, humid air is the most common cause of problems in husbandry. Terrarium: Vertical (tree-dwelling), equipped with cork elements or plants for nest-building.
