Description
Phormingochilus sp. Sabah Red is a dream for collectors of rare Asian species. This arboreal bird from the Malaysian part of Borneo is famous for its unusual color dynamics. Depending on the light and stage of growth, the spider displays contrasting coloration: from olive or bright carapace to intense rusty and even purple hues on the abdomen and legs. The distinctive "tiger" pattern on the abdomen adds to its predatory character.
Behavior and temperament: This is a species for those with experience. The spider is extremely fast, reacts instantly to stimuli and is sometimes defensive. As befits an Old World spider, it possesses a powerful venom. It spends most of its time in the intricate web constructions it builds in the vertical crevices of its bark.
Breeding conditions: Requires a tall arboreal terrarium. It is crucial to maintain high humidity (80%) and a temperature of 25-28°C. It is best to use moisture-holding mixtures as substrate, and cork tubes as climbing elements.
