Description
Ephebopus cyanognathus is an exceptionally striking species of tarantula native to the humid forests of French Guiana. Its most distinctive feature is its vivid blue venom fangs, which set it apart from most tarantulas and make it a true gem in the collections of experienced breeders.
This species leads a ground-dwelling, burrowing lifestyle and requires moist substrate that allows it to dig deep burrows. It is fast, alert, and defensive, so it is best suited for experienced keepers. Another distinctive feature is the stinging hairs on its front legs—a unique characteristic of the genus Ephebopus.
