Description
Brachypelma albiceps, more widely known as the Mexican Golden Red Rump, is a true jewel of Mexican fauna. This species is distinguished by its unique contrast: an intensely golden, almost cream-colored carapace is juxtaposed with raven-black legs and an abdomen covered with bright red hairs. Individuals of this size are already perfectly colored and present the fullness of their aesthetic qualities. This is a species famous for its exceptional longevity, which in the case of females allows you to enjoy breeding for decades.
Behavior and venom This bird is prized by hobbyists for its extremely gentle nature. It is a slow, predictable spider and rarely manifests any form of defensiveness. In stressful situations, it usually chooses to flee or comb out its scalding hairs. It has a weak venom that poses no threat to adult health, making it an ideal choice for both beginners and advanced breeders planning to breed this species.
Breeding conditions As a terrestrial species, B. albiceps requires a terrarium with a large bottom area. In breeding, ensure a temperature of 25-28°C and moderate humidity (about 50-60%). These spiders readily use hiding places in the form of cork tubes and often remodel the substrate according to their needs. The offered pair of 5.5 cm are strong individuals, well fed and ready to live in the target breeding tanks.
