• Origin: Ecuador (tropical rainforests) • Lifestyle: Arboreal (builds spacious nests out of spiderwebs) • Size: Body approx. 4.5–5 cm, leg span approx. 11–13 cm • Lifespan: Females 10–12 years, males approx. 1.5–2 years from maturity • Temperament: Skittish, fast, agile, non-aggressive by nature • Venom potency: Weak Appearance and behavior: Velvety, violet-purple sheen in adults. Pinkish pads at the tips of the legs (tarsus). When threatened, it flees or jumps. Housing requirements: • Terrarium: Vertical (min. 20x20x40 cm) with bark/cork tube • Climate: Temp. 24–28°C, humidity 75–80% • Ventilation: Very good air circulation (cross-ventilation)
