Description
Brachypelma klaasi- Mexican pink bird.
This rare and protected species from the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains, impresses with its velvety black carapace with orange border and red hairs. Females grow up to 8 cm and can live more than 20 years, while males live shorter. It is a peaceful spider with a gentle disposition and harmless venom, so it is dedicated to beginner breeders. The species is threatened with extinction and protected by CITES.
The species name 'klaasi' was given in honor of German arachnologist Peter Klaas, who was the first to describe the species in 1994.
